Hello Everyone
I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get a journal update to you! Being married has been wonderful and I haven't wanted to think one iota about work this summer while we were just enjoying being home.
Anyway, now I'm back in North Carolina and filming again. It's ridiculously hot here-- like, ridiculously... but I've heard it's pretty hot everywhere right now, so... keep hydrated, young ladies!!
I have three recommendations for you. The first is a book called "Bono" by Michka Assayas. It's basically one long, fascinating interview with Bono from cover to cover... it's really interesting.
Second, is a cd called "Let It Die" byt the band FEIST. It's chill like laid-back Brazilian music, but saucy like old torch jazz, and the girl's voice is really cool.
Third is my favorite movie of the summer THE LADY IN THE WATER-- I know the dumb reviewers have been panning it, but they are just too jaded about their own lives to appreciate a film this innocent and hopeful and inspiring. It's literally like a Grimm's Faerie Tale... very suspensful elements (athough it is certainly not a horror movie, like the previews make you think it is), lots of comedy, a moral at the end of the story, and just some beautiful spiritual symbolism throughout. All the actors are WONDERFUL and the scenes are shot with just the right amount of "hitchcockian" spark that it keeps you glued to your seat, even in the slower moments. When we let this film, I felt so inspired about life and faith. THE LADY IN THE WATER is truly a bedtime story for all ages, but you have to go in and set aside your logic and reality and just commit yourself to believing with a childlike faith, what this story takes you through--- GO SEE IT GUYS! IT'S AWESOME!!!
Ok, that's all for me today... lots of love
xoxo Bethany

New journal entry from Joy* Joy updated the journal on her website a few days ago. She's talking about Christmas, the recent presents she received from fans, her music and the rumours that she might be pregnant. Here it is.
* Hello, Hello from pleasantly chilled Wilmington! It's the beginning of December and it's only JUST turned cold (barely!) Thanksgiving was great this year, Michael and I had it at our house in Washington. Our friend Dan smoked a turkey and I made stuffing, FROM SCRATCH, thankyyouverymuch! Also, my friend Erin and I made some yummy cranberry-meringue tarts, recipe courtesy of www.marthastewart.com.
Now I am really looking forward to Christmas! I just helped some friends put up decorations around their home and it made me feel all warm and cozy inside. Not sure if the WA house is decorated or not, but I'm working on our place in Carolina, for sure! And speaking of Christmas, I'd like to thank everyone who so thoughtfully contributed to my goodiebox of Christmas candles! I have them up in my trailer and it's never smelled so yummy!!
Monica Ward, Cristel Spotti, Stephanie Treventi, Rachel at Fan Forum(thank you for your letter especially--be encouraged) Alisha, Candice, Kalla, Paulina, and Sofia. A special thank you, also to Nicole Pelletier!
Other than that, things are pretty quiet 'round these parts. My music producer, Ron, and I are full-steam-ahead writing our stage musical, and hope to be in some kind of production (workshops, recording, etc) by the end of 2007 at the latest (I wish I could tell you more, but until we get the rights, my lips are sealed). Enation are doing very well, having just finished their 2nd album, "Where The Fire Starts". The record is really incredible recalling hints of Radiohead, U2 and Smashing Pumpkins... I'm very excited for it's release. You can find out more at EnationMusic.com
I wanted to mention, as a side note, that I am NOT pregnant! LOL I've been on some of the message boards and I see that some of you are buzzing with curiosity! Michael and I will have children (lots of them) someday, but right now I'm just gaining an extra few pounds and drinking lots of water to puff up my stomach and look a little plump for Haley's first trimester.... SO, I hope that puts all the questions to rest. Elsewhere, I just saw "Happy Feet" which is adorable and really funny... Nicole Kidman does a dead-on Marilyn Monroe. Here's my list of holiday movies I will most likely be watching before January: Holiday Inn It's a Wonderful Life (of course) The Family Man The Bishop's Wife and Christmas in Connecticut - it's a little cheesy, but still fun.
Nothing more to say but have a FABULOUS winter and merry Christmas!! Lots of love and thanks and I hope you all have a wonderful, wonderful Holiday!
xoxo Bethany
p.s. To all fans writing to request an autograph, please remember to include a S.A.$.E.!
